Providing Technology Education for Digital Newcomers: Challenges and Solutions

Page history last edited by Jeff Chamer 7 years, 11 months ago

Description:

Every organization working to close the digital divide has unique challenges when it comes to providing digital literacy training. Participants in this session will discuss their needs and obstacles with the goal of coming to an understanding about what educational platforms and materials need to be created and made available to help reach underserved, newcomers, and last-milers. Topics will include discussions about:
· Online self-paced instruction
· Online instructor-led instruction
· Video instruction
· Printed resources
· Certifications and digital badges
· Learning Management Systems
· And more
For organizations that are active in workforce development we will look at the next step in applicant preparedness—certifications like Microsoft Office Specialist.
